My Story

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada (or I like to call it Winterpeg). If you don’t know where that is… think North Dakota then go more North, or click here.  Basically all you need to know is that it’s cold AF.  (Btw, I swear…a lot…If you know me at all, you know this to be FACT don’t hold it against me).

In my time on this planet, I have realized there are a few things that define me:

NURSE: I am an ER nurse through and through..Not sure I would be as good or more accurately (as passionate) about anything else.  I definitely lucked out and found my niche in society as they say.

TRAVELER: Both in my professional and personal life. Collecting stamps in my passport as often as I can, and branching out my traveler wings past California shortly.

RUNNER: Intermediate at best.  I run for two purposes: One – it’s cheaper than therapy, and Two – To see the world (for example, Madrid Rock n’ Roll Half Marathon)

EXPLORER: Applies to how I live my life.  Exploring all this world has to offer, both locally and internationally.

CANASIAN: A lovely term given to me by a good friend, travel nurse and amateur comedian by the name of David Tharp.  So if you haven’t figured it out… Canadian/Asian.  Although the correct term would be Pacific Islander, but I liked the term and I continue to use it.  Common question I am asked “What kind of asian are you?”  My common response.. “From before I was born?” (if you haven’t seen that youtube clip, you must what kind of asian are you).

THE NOW: 13 week travel nursing contracts, adding stamps to my passport between contracts – coffee drinking, hiking, Brewery hopping, wine-tasting, Half-marathon racing and more adventuring in between.
